While TEKNOFEST 2026 was held for the first time in the Southeastern Anatolia Region, there was an increase in the participation of young people in the region in technology competitions. Within the scope of the GAP Green Innovation Project Competition, carried out under the coordination of the GAP Regional Development Administration, a total of 8 thousand 345 project applications were received from 9 provinces this year. All applications from Adıyaman, Batman, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Kilis, Mardin, Siirt, Şanlıurfa and Şırnak were directed according to TEKNOFEST criteria. GAP Administration organized trainings for students and teachers on project preparation, technical file creation, presentation and application system.
100 PROJECTS WERE SUPPORTED
Material and mentoring support was provided to 100 projects supported among the applications.. 73 of these projects made it to the TEKNOFEST Southeastern final. According to GAP Administration data, 73 out of every 100 supported projects will compete in the TEKNOFEST final. Finalists will take part in the organization at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport between 30 September and 4 October.
LAST YEAR, 32 PROJECTS WERE FINALISTS
GAP Yeşil Innovation’s TEKNOFEST performance has increased in the last two years. According to the GAP Administration’s 2025 activity report, 10 projects from the region advanced to the TEKNOFEST finals in 2024 and 4 of them received degrees. In 2025, 32 projects from the region made it to the TEKNOFEST finals. 21 of these projects were supported by GAP Green Innovation. Supported projects received 12 awards in the final.
