Stating that industrial production increased despite the difficult global conditions, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek said that there was a high increase in value-added production.
Minister Şimşek’s evaluation is as follows;
“Despite the difficult global conditions, our industrial production grew by 1.9 percent annually in the second quarter. In this period, production in high-technology sectors increased by 3.9 percent; the share of medium-high and high-technology products in manufacturing industry exports reached 44.5 percent as of June.
The strong increase in value-added production and the improvement in export composition are concrete indicators of the transformation in the industry. “We will continue to move up the global value chains with our efficiency-oriented policies.”
