Wolodymyr Selenskyj talks about troop movements in a television address. He wanted to shift the fighting to Russia.
The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj confirmed the use of Ukrainian troops in the Russian border region of Belgorod for the first time. General chief of staff Oleksandr Syrskyj taught him about “our presence in the Kursk region and our presence in the Belgorod region”, Selenskyj said on Monday evening in his every evening video address. In the Russian region of Kursk, which is adjacent to Belgorod, Ukraine has been filling areas since last August.
Selenskyj spoke for the first time since the beginning of the Russian attack war against Ukraine in February 2022 about the presence of Ukrainian soldiers in the Belgorod region. The Russian military had already stated in March that Ukrainian attacks were suspended in Belgorod. The blog “Deepstate”, which was close to the Ukrainian military, reported that Ukrainian soldiers had filled 13 square kilometers around the village of Demidowka in Belgorod.
Selenskyj continued in his video speech to the Ukrainian Army’s approach: “We continue to carry out active missions in the border areas on the enemy’s territory, and that is absolutely correct – the war has to return where it comes from.” General chief of staff Syrkyj reported to him about military activities “along the border, in the so -called gray area and directly in hostile territory”.
