Scientists from the New South Wales University in Australia (ENW) revealed that the stars in the sky are almost ‘vibrate’ like an instrument, and these vibrations give clues about the age, mass and evolutionary state of the stars.

Thanks to the data obtained by NASA’s Kepler K2, the M67 star set of 27 stars was examined. The study is one of the most comprehensive analyzes to understand the star internal structure.

Scientists, the frequencies emitted by the stars, just like a fingerprint, identified the internal structure, warmth and age of each star. Dr. Claudia Reyes led by the study, stars spread various frequencies such as different notes, and these frequencies showed how old the star was.

Prof. Dennis Stello said that more reliable models of the internal structure of the stars can be developed.

Dr. Reyes emphasized that it is an unexpected result to discover special signatures on these frequencies and said, “Now we can look at the stars data that has been gathered in the past and look for these signatures. So we will continue to listen to the stars”.
