NEW BOMBARDING DRONE IS ON THE FRONT
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the new Mangas heavy bomber drone has begun to be used in the war in Ukraine. The system is used in frontline missions by 11th Corps units affiliated with the Sever group. It was first announced that the production of Mangas would begin in September 2025.
SIX ENGINE BOMBARDING DRONE
Mangas is an electric heavy drone with a hexacopter design with six arms and six rotors. The system, developed by Baikal Tactical Group and Kurier, was designed to support front-line troops and carry out tactical bombing by dropping explosive ammunition from the air.
THE REAL NIGHT HUNTER
One of Mangas’ standout features is its thermal imaging system. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the drone is used especially for night missions. The advanced thermal camera, whose technology has not been disclosed, allows detecting targets in low visibility conditions and also enables Mangas to operate on the front line throughout the night.
ELECTRONIC WARFARE PROTECTION
It was also announced that protection against autopilot and electronic warfare systems was added to the battery-powered Mangas. These features aim to reduce the risk of connection loss on the front line where the world’s most intense jamming activities occur. Mangas’ range, maximum flight time and ammunition carrying capacity are kept secret.
