He spreads numerous right -wing conspiracy theories in his podcast. Now Dan Bongino is supposed to be the deputy head of the FBI.

The new FBI boss Kash Patel has appointed the ultra-right Podcaster Dan Bongino as his deputy at the head of the US federal police. This announced US President Donald Trump on Monday, who called Bongino’s appointment as “great news for law enforcement and the American judiciary”. The new FBI vice is a “man with incredible love and passion for our country”, Trump wrote in his online network Truth Social.

Bongino used to work for the New York police and in the Secret Service responsible for the protection of the president. It is a loyal trump pendant, which in his right-wing circles often spread false information and conspiracy counts-for example via Corona pandemic or the storming of the Capitol in Washington due to radical Trump trailers on January 6, 2021.

In a podcast episode Trump, Bongino recently recommended that “ignoring” the decision of a federal judge who had opposed the President’s course. In an explanation on Monday to his appointment as FBI-Vice, Bongino then announced that he wanted to ensure that the US criminal prosecution authorities “maintain the values and the integrity to which they were founded”.

In contrast to the Office of the FBI boss, the occupation of the vice post does not require the approval of the Senate. The new FBI director Patel had only received this confirmation last Thursday with the narrow majority of 51 against 49 votes. He too is a Trump loyalist who had spread right-wing conspiracy counts in the past.

Not too long ago, Patel had announced a revenge campaign against Trump-Widersacher. In his Senate hearing, however, he then asserted that the FBI did not want to exploit the FBI for the retaliation of political opponents.
