The first version of US President Donald Trump’s peace plan was met with rejection in Kiev and among its allies. A new version will now be sent soon.
According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a revised version of the US peace plan to end the war in Ukraine will be sent to Washington by tomorrow, Tuesday. The peace plan drawn up by the USA has now been shortened from 28 to 20 points, Zelenskyy told Ukrainian journalists. “The openly anti-Ukraine positions have been removed.” Zelensky announced the completion and handover of the plan to the USA for tomorrow, Tuesday.
At the same time, Zelenskyj strictly ruled out ceding territory to Russia. “We have no right to do this under the law – neither under the law of Ukraine, nor our constitution, nor international law, if we are honest,” he wrote. Russia continues to insist on ceding territories in the east of its neighboring country.
At the end of November, the USA handed over a plan to Kiev to end the war in Ukraine, which has been going on since 2022. The plan was immediately rejected by Kiev and the Eastern European country’s European allies.
