One day after the US attacks on Iran, its Foreign Minister is looking for assistance with the most important allies: Russia. In his words, Kremlin chief Putin remains vague.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has promised Iran in view of the air strikes of Israel and the USA. After the massive US bombardment on nuclear facilities in Iran, the Kremlin chief in Moscow received the country’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghtschi. According to the Reuters news agency, the minister is said to have handed over a letter from the Iranian head of state Ajatollah Ali Chamenei, in which he asked for more support from Russia.

However, the Russian president did not say what the support could be. His spokesman Dmitri Peskow also said that Iran needed. Russia has offered its mediation in the escalating conflict. Iran is a close ally of Moscow and also provides combat drones for Putin’s war against Ukraine.

Putin spoke in accordance with a message of an “absolutely unprofitable aggression against Iran”, for which there was no reason and no justification. “We have long, good, reliable relationships with Iran. We will make efforts from our side to help the Iranian people,” said Putin.

Russia attributed the full right to self -defense to Iran. According to Russian news agencies, deputy foreign minister Sergei Rjabkow called the strategic partnership between Moscow and Tehran “unbreakable”. When asked whether Iran had asked Russia for military help, Rjabkow told the Interfax news agency, Moscow was working with Tehran in numerous areas. However, it would be irresponsible to disclose further details of the cooperation.

Former Russian President Dmitri Medvedev had previously commented more clearly. “The enrichment of nuclear material – and we can now say that directly – and the future production of nuclear weapons will continue,” wrote Medvedev on the Telegram platform on Sunday. Medvedev also claimed that “a number of countries” was ready to deliver nuclear weapons to Iran. Medvedev left open which countries should be.
