“Punishment for not paying fines” from Russia to Google

In Russia, Google was fined 16 billion rubles (approximately $206 million) for not paying previous fines.

The case filed against Google was heard in the capital Moscow.

The court ruled that the company did not comply with the law on the grounds that it did not pay the fines previously imposed, and ordered Google to pay a fine of 16 billion rubles.

Google was fined for not removing banned content, not localizing the personal data of users in Russia, and for some violations.

The company was last fined 22 million rubles on February 25 for accessing VPN services via Google Play.
