Private sector employment in the USA increased above expectations by 62 thousand people in March.
The national employment report for March, prepared by the ADP Research Institute in collaboration with Stanford Digital Economy Lab, has been published.
Accordingly, private sector employment in the USA increased by 62 thousand people in March. Market expectation was for an increase of 41 thousand people.
The data regarding the increase in private sector employment in February was revised from 63 thousand to 66 thousand.
During the said period, there was an increase of 32 thousand people in the service sector and 30 thousand people in the production sector.
According to ADP private employment data calculated using payroll information of more than 26 million employees in the USA, the annual wage increase was 4.5 percent for employees who stayed in the same job in March, while this rate was recorded as 6.6 percent for those who changed jobs.
In her assessment of the data, ADP Research Institute Chief Economist Nela Richardson stated that hiring is generally stable, but employment growth continues to be concentrated in certain sectors such as healthcare.
