The unrest in France’s politics remains, even if another vote of no confidence was rejected. But there is still another vote.

France’s Prime Minister François Bayrou survived a first no confidence in connection with the 2025 budget on Wednesday. Only 128 of the MPs voted for the application that it would have been necessary 289. The budgetary law has been adopted. A second vote of no confidence should follow later in the evening, it affects the budget for social security.

The result of the vote was expected because neither the socialists nor the right -wing populists wanted to support the applications of the left -wing populist opposition. Both parties had argued that they do not agree with the budget, but that France urgently need a household.

Bayrou had supported the constitutional paragraph 49.3 to adopt the two budget laws without the final vote in parliament. This is possible if he accepts a vote of no confidence. France’s call was at risk if the country had no household, he had said before the National Assembly.

The previous government under Michel Barnier was overturned in December when the budget was adopted. At that time, right-wing and left-wing populists had jointly refused to trust the government.

Against the new government formed shortly before Christmas, the Left Party had submitted a notification of no confidence right after the first government declaration of Bayrou. But even with this vote in mid -January, most of the government’s socialist members of the government did not withdraw trust, just as little as the legal nationals of Le Pen.

The government budget is a compromise that a parliamentary mediation committee presented at the end of last week. Accordingly, France continues to state the goal of reducing the deficit from a good six percent last year to a maximum of 5.4 percent of gross domestic product. In addition, a total of around 50 billion euros are to be saved.
