Donald Trump has commemorative photos hung in the renovated Palm Room of the White House. One thing in particular stands out.

In December, Donald Trump announced the renovation of the Palm Room in the White House. He also had new pictures hung. A reporter from the American broadcaster PBS noticed one photo in particular during a visit. Trump has a picture of himself and Russian President Vladimir Putin hanging. Both stand next to each other on a podium at the airfield at the US military airport in Anchorage.

Journalist Elizabeth Landers noticed the photo and shared a photo on the X platform. Trump himself had shared pictures of the renovated room in December; at that time the photo was already on the wall, but no details could be seen. Trump had a photo of himself and his granddaughter Caroline at the 2025 Daytona race placed under the picture.

The first reactions didn’t take long to arrive. “If it is true that the US president sees fit to hang a photo of the greatest war criminal of the 21st century on the wall of the White House, then unfortunately a just and sustainable peace will have to wait,” wrote Marko Mihkelson, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Estonian parliament, in a post on X.
