Author Michael Wolff has had many interviews with Epstein. Now he illuminates the relationship between Trump and Epstein. The name of an entrepreneur also falls.
The book band from 2003 has it all. It is a gift for Jeffrey Epstein on his 50th birthday. Donald Trump contributed a letter, as well as Leslie Wexner, founder of Victoria’s Secret, Lan C. Greenberg, head of Bank Bear Stearns, who had to be saved in the 2008 financial crisis by a takeover, and the Nobel Prize winner Murray Gell-Mann. Bill Clinton was also tight with Epstein. Now the US journalist Michael Wolff gives other names in an interview with the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung”. And he illuminates the special relationship between Epstein and Trump.
“Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein have been closest to friends for over a decade and were probably closer to everyone else in their respective lives,” said Epstein the “FAZ”. The reason for the close binding: “I think this relationship was of fundamental importance for both men. Both maintained a certain lifestyle, the same lifestyle, which ultimately brought Epstein into difficulties, even in deadly difficulties.”
Trump and Epstein met in the New York business world. Both were later crossed due to contrary economic interests. When Epstein was first convicted in 2008, the friendship between the two had long since breathed. In 2019, Epstein committed suicide in custody.
Wolff said the “FAZ”: Nobody viewed him (Epstein) as someone who could possibly credibly testify to the President of the United States. “This changed to the White House with Donald Trump’s move -in.
Wolff’s statements in the “FAZ” are all the more revealing: “Both men were primarily interested in two things, indeed owned by: money and women or girls,” said the journalist and author about the friendship between the men between Trump and Epstein. Wolff continued: “They spent a long time – over a decade – together and shared the same interests and obsessions, especially models. That was exactly what was interested in: models.”
Wolff’s silent admiration for Epstein also seems to be avoided at a distance. “I would say Epstein was one of the most puzzling people of our time,” he says in the “FAZ interview”. And: “There are many astonishing, open questions: Where did all his money come from? Why did so many influential and powerful people feel attracted to him?”
Wolff’s view of Epstein: “Today we only have this one -dimensional picture of him as a sex offender, almost as a caricature. Of course he was in some ways, but at the same time someone with far -reaching interests, an extensive network and someone who apparently offered this powerful person a bit.”
Wolff reveals another name from this “extensive network”. “There were an unbelievable number. I saw practically everyone who was later mentioned – all known names were there, from Bill Gates to prominent politicians.”
Epstein’s list of acquaintances is getting longer.
