Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced that the daily oil production in the wells in Şırnak’s Gabar district broke a record with 83 thousand 300 barrels.
Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar said, “With the terrorism-free Turkey process, Gabar has become the address of production, employment and hope. We have revealed a small part of what a terrorism-free Türkiye can bring to our country in Gabar. When we spread this to all of Türkiye and the entire region, hopefully the future of Türkiye and the whole region, the future of our people and our nation will be much brighter. Our oil production in Gabar reaches 83 thousand 300 barrels per day. “We will increase production by working non-stop and continue to be hope for the future of our citizens.” he said.
After the end of terrorism in the East, Turkish Petroleum (TPAO) started to carry out seismic and oil research in the region. As a result of this research, the largest oil discovery in the history of the republic was made in the Gabar region of Şırnak in 2021. Since this date, work has been carried out in 6 oil wells.
A total of more than 50 million barrels of crude oil have been produced since 2021 through the fields in Gabar, where production is increasing day by day. Oil production in Gabar broke the record with the opening of new wells. Production in Gabar reached 83 thousand 300 barrels per day.
