The US President and his ex-consultant have an open exchange of blows. Trump apparently wants to come to Germany. All developments in the news blog.

Rain high representatives of the United States and China will meet for further trading talks in London, according to US President Donald Trump on Monday. The US delegation will be headed by Finance Minister Scott Bessent, Minister of Commerce Howard Lutnick and the trade officer Jamieson Greer, Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. Trump had agreed the new round of talks on Thursday in a phone call with the Chinese state and party leader Xi Jinping- initially without a specific location and time of the meeting.

According to Trump, the talks are about discussing subtleties of a trade agreement between the two largest economies in May. China had expressed much more cautiously after the telephone call of the two heads of state and the United States warned to adhere to the mutual agreements of the agreement. The Chinese side seriously and conscientiously implemented the agreement, explained Beijing.

Trump has been a tough trading policy course for China since taking office. In the meantime, the Republican had increased punitive tariffs on imports from China to the United States in several steps to dizzying 145 percent, whereupon Beijing reacted with counter -tariffs. In mid -May, both sides agreed on a break of the escalation spiral at a meeting in Switzerland and at least temporarily agreed to reduce punitive tariffs.

The exchange of blows between US President Donald Trump and his ex-consultant Elon Musk continued on Friday. Trump now is now considering selling his electric car from Musk’s company Tesla, as it was said from the White House. According to an AFP reporter, the red car was in the market value of the equivalent of almost 70,000 euros on Friday on the site of the White House.

Trump had bought the Tesla in front of the White House in mid -March as part of a kind of sales show. The reason was a boycott of Tesla after Musk had made a clear cut in the state apparatus on behalf of the President and the dismissal of numerous employees. At that time, Trump said Tesla was “a great company” and Musk “a patriot”. Tesla’s share price then recovered somewhat.

Meanwhile, the Russian government of Musk offered political asylum in Russia. “Elon Musk naturally plays in another league and will not need asylum,” said Dmitri Nowikow, deputy chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the State Duma, the state news agency TASS. “But if he needed asylum, Russia could of course grant him that.”

Correction note: In an earlier version of this blog entry it was said that Trump was considering selling his Tesla shares. We ask to excuse the mistake.

In view of the public disagreement with Elon Musk, US President Donald Trump is “not particularly” interested in a conversation with the tech billionaire. The President said in a telephone interview of the US television station ABC, as he reported. When asked about reports on a phone call with Musk, supposedly scheduled for Friday, Trump replied: “You mean the man who has lost his mind?” He was “not particularly” interested in talking to the Tesla boss. Musk wanted to talk to him, Trump claimed, but he was not ready for it.
