North Korea is testing missiles again – this time strategic cruise missiles and anti-ship missiles are fired from a destroyer. What is behind Pyongyang’s frequent missile tests?

North Korea has again carried out several missile tests. According to the state news agency KCNA, the projectiles fired were strategic cruise missiles and anti-ship missiles that were fired by the naval destroyer “Choe Hyon” presented last year. The ruler, Kim Jong Un, personally observed the weapons tests.

This month, North Korea has again tested more missiles, including ballistic missiles equipped with controversial cluster munitions. Pyongyang may also be reacting to the latest developments in the Middle East. According to several UN Security Council resolutions, North Korea is generally prohibited from firing ballistic missiles.
