Iran’s navy has warned a US warship not to transit the Strait of Hormuz as peace negotiations begin. The armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran were closely monitoring the US destroyer, a report by the Tasnim news agency said. If the ship continues on its course, there is a risk of an attack.

The Iranian delegation, which started peace talks with the USA in Islamabad, lodged a complaint with mediator Pakistan and demanded that the US destroyer leave the strait again. “If the movement of the ship continues, it will be attacked within 30 minutes,” Iran told the US, according to Tasnim.

According to the Ministry of Health there, at least seven people were killed and several injured in two Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip. Officials say an attack hit a police checkpoint in the Bureij refugee camp. At least six people are killed. At least one person is killed in another attack in Beit Lahia. The Israeli military said the attack in Bureij came after Hamas members approached the so-called Yellow Line. This marks the border with the half of the coastal area occupied by Israel. The army has not yet commented on the incident in Beit Lahia.

According to information from Tehran, the peace negotiations between the USA and Iran will soon be held at expert level. Iranian members of the technical committees began their work at the venue of the negotiations, Iranian state broadcasting and the Tasnim news agency reported.
