Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made a written statement regarding the airline aircraft, passenger and cargo data of the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ) for February 2026. Minister Uraloğlu stated that the number of aircraft taking off and landing at passenger and environmentally friendly airports in the month in question was 65 thousand 188 on domestic lines and 53 thousand 18 on international lines, and said, “Thus, total aircraft traffic reached 159 thousand 97 with overpasses. Compared to the same month of 2025, there was a 6.8 percent increase in total aircraft traffic, including overpasses.”

‘THE AMOUNT OF CARGO CARRIED WAS 361 TONS’

Minister Uraloğlu stated that in February, domestic passenger traffic was 7 million 64 thousand 417 and international passenger traffic was 8 million 20 thousand 106. Emphasizing that a total of 15 million 92 thousand 119 passengers traveled with direct transit passengers, Uraloğlu said, “A total of 15 million 92 thousand 119 passengers traveled by air in February. Compared to the same month of the previous year, there was a 5.8 percent increase in total passenger traffic, including direct transit. In just one month, the number of passengers traveling by air exceeded the total population of 45 provinces.”

Minister Uraloğlu also stated that the amount of cargo transported in February reached 361 thousand 607 tons in total, including 62 thousand 588 tons on domestic lines and 299 thousand 19 tons on international lines.

‘THERE WAS AN INCREASE OF 7.7 PERCENT IN PASSENGER TRAFFIC’

Minister Uraloğlu stated that the aircraft traffic landing and taking off from the airports in the January-February period was 133 thousand 559 on domestic lines and 115 thousand 767 on international lines, thus reaching a total of 338 thousand 175 including overpasses. Stating that the total aircraft traffic served during the said period, including overpasses, increased by 4.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, Minister Uraloğlu said, “A total of 32 million 877 thousand 752 passengers, including direct transit passengers, were served in this period, where the domestic passenger traffic of airports across Turkey was 15 million 264 thousand 562 and the international passenger traffic was 17 million 593 thousand 28. The passengers served at the end of February 2026.” “When compared to the same period in 2025, there was a 7.7 percent increase in total passenger traffic, including direct transit,” he said.

Uraloğlu also stated that airport freight traffic in the said period; It was reported that a total of 763 thousand 473 tons was reached, including 138 thousand 209 tons on domestic lines and 625 thousand 264 tons on international lines.

‘ISTANBUL AIRPORT SERVED 12 MILLION PASSENGERS’

Minister Uraloğlu stated that in February, aircraft traffic at Istanbul Airport reached 39 thousand 461 in total, including 8 thousand 409 on domestic lines and 31 thousand 52 on international lines. Uraloğlu also noted that Istanbul Airport provides service to a total of 5 million 860 thousand 973 passengers, 1 million 167 thousand 984 on domestic lines and 4 million 692 thousand 989 on international lines. Emphasizing that in the January-February period, there was a total of 84 thousand 551 aircraft traffic at the said airport, 17 thousand 674 on domestic lines and 66 thousand 877 on international lines, Uraloğlu said, “There was a total of 12 million 771 thousand 781 passenger traffic, 2 million 497 thousand 817 on domestic lines and 10 million 273 thousand 964 on international lines.”

‘7 MILLION PASSENGER TRAFFIC HAS BEEN REALIZED IN SABİHA GÖKÇEN’

Providing information about the aircraft and passenger traffic of Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport, Minister Uraloğlu said, “In February, aircraft traffic taking off and landing was 21 thousand 120 in total, 8 thousand 606 on domestic lines and 12 thousand 514 on international lines. “It became 221,” he said.

Stating that there was a total of 30 thousand 792 aircraft traffic, 19 thousand 720 on domestic lines and 11 thousand 72 on international lines, Minister Uraloğlu said, “In the 2-month period, 1 million 757 thousand 849 passengers were served at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, 1 million 949 thousand 90 at Antalya Airport, and 170 thousand 374 passengers at Muğla Dalaman Airport.
