Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek commented on the expectation survey announced by the CBRT today. Minister Şimşek said that household inflation expectations have improved by 12 points and added, “This improvement reduces the rigidities in inflation.” he said.
Making a statement on social media, Minister Şimşek said:
“The disinflation process positively affects inflation expectations in all segments.
Compared to May, when we saw the peak in inflation, 12-month expectations improved by 12 points in households, 8.2 points in the real sector and 6 points among market participants.
“This improvement in expectations supports the decrease in inflation rigidities.”
