Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, who made an assessment of the additional customs duties implemented by the USA, said that Türkiye is prepared against these developments and that they have carried out a comprehensive study in close contact with the sectors.
Trade Minister Ömer Bolar made statements about the road map to be followed by Türkiye after the additional customs duties implemented by the USA. Minister Bolat, “There is a serious uncertainty in the middle, but we want to get out of this process without damage. This is our first duty. The second task is to increase our exports by making moves in favor of our country. In this direction, we work with the public and private sector,” he said.
Minister Bolat emphasized that Türkiye follows policies that prioritize foreign trade, “the US brought 10 percent additional customs duty is not a positive development for us. However, some of the countries we compete have been applied higher rates. This has made us a relatively advantageous position. We took action to create new opportunities in the US market,” he said.
Minister Bolat also pointed out that countries that have decreased access to the US market may turn to the markets exported by Türkiye, “Therefore, we will carry out a multi -faceted trade diplomacy,” he said.
