The second largest city in Ukraine is located in the east close to the border with Russia. It is therefore particularly often the goal of air strikes.

According to the authorities, at least 20 people have been injured by a Russian drone attack on the Ukrainian city of Charkiw. “Explosions can be heard in the city,” wrote Mayor Ihor Terechow on Telegram in the evening. Several districts are affected by the attacks. A combat drone of Iranian design was taken alongside a hospital.

Charkiw, a city of millions before the war, lies close to the Russian border in the east of Ukraine. The city is therefore particularly often affected by Russian air strikes. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, drones also attacked the cities of Dnipro and Krywyj Rih and the Cherson area. According to regional governor Serhij Lyssak, at least one person was killed in Dnipro. There are several fires in the city.

The Russian occupation management of the Donetsk area reported 16 injured after an alleged Ukrainian artillery attack on the city of Horliwka. Accordingly, the Ukrainian army shot the important railway junction with rocket artillery. The information could initially not be confirmed independently.
