Many changes in natural gas subscription! Security fee exemption for those who are 65 years old

Within the scope of the regulation, changes were made in many headings regarding subscriber connection fee, security fee, meter transactions, billing periods, definition of illegal natural gas, contract termination, emergency response services and obligations of distribution companies.

There is no security fee for those who receive a pension over the age of 65
According to the new regulation;

Households receiving support within the scope of the pension given to needy citizens over the age of 65,
Recipients of regular aid within the scope of the Social Assistance and Solidarity Law
No security fee will be collected for natural gas subscriptions made on your behalf.

However, this exemption will not be applied if the same person closes their current subscription and opens a new subscription at the same address.

Refund and time requirement for connection fees
The process regarding the subscriber connection fee has also been clarified:

If the application is canceled before the service line construction begins, the connection fee will be refunded within 5 business days.
After the fee is collected, the service line will be ready for gas supply within 30 days at the latest.
If the consumer agrees, this period can be extended up to 90 days.
If the necessary permits cannot be obtained and the line is not ready within 90 days, the connection fee will be refunded within 5 business days.
Additionally, the connection fee can be paid by credit card in installments up to 6 months.

Possibility of installment for the security deposit
For the assurance fee received from subscribers using mechanical meters with the regulation:

In cash or by credit card,
Payment can be made in at least 6 equal installments and without interest.
Security fee will not be collected from those using prepaid meters, places of worship, some public institutions and households receiving social assistance.

Gas activation time for new subscription is 4 days
For new subscriptions to be made at the same address after the first subscription:

After the installation check is completed, natural gas will be turned on within 4 business days.
After any deficiencies are corrected, gas will be provided with the application within 4 business days.
For addresses whose service has been stopped by the competent administration, new subscriptions will not be possible without obtaining the written approval of the institution.

Response to meter malfunction within 24 hours
New rules have also been introduced for meter-related transactions:

Meter installation, removal and replacement will only be done by the distribution company.
Faults and problems that prevent gas flow will be addressed within 24 hours at the latest.
Damages resulting from external intervention in the meter will be collected from the customer.

New obligation in invoice notification
Distribution companies invoice:

It will be delivered at least 10 days before the due date.
In no case will the payment period be less than 5 business days.
If the consumer has contact information, notification of the amount and payment due date via SMS will be mandatory.
If the reading times are short due to company reasons, the payment period will be at least 25 days; If it stays longer, the consumption fee will be divided into at least 4 invoices and no interest will be applied.

Resupply of gas to the subscriber whose gas was cut off within 24 hours
Natural gas to customers who fulfill their obligations and apply:

Except for situations requiring meter on-off
It will be given again within 24 hours.

The definition of illegal use has been expanded
Interfering with the meter or measurement system,
Remote reading or disabling protective equipment will also clearly be considered illegal natural gas use.
It will be essential that the determinations be made with concrete findings and documents and that consumer rights are protected.
