Moscow is satisfied with the pace of his conquests. Kyiv warns of a new Russian major offensive in Donbass. At night, Russia attacks drones and rockets again.
According to Kyiv, Russia plans another big offensive in the East Ukrainian industrial area Donbass. According to the news agency Interfax Ukraine, Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj warned in a conversation with media representatives in the area around the city of Pokrowsk. “The concentration (on troops) there is up to 100,000, that’s what we have this morning,” he said. The Russian troops prepared the advance in any case. But Ukraine is prepared for this, said Selenskyj. He assessed the situation as under control.
Meanwhile, the Russian military attacked a number of Ukrainian cities with combat drones and marching aircraft at night. The cities of Saporischschja and Dnipro, in particular, were in the sights of the Russian attacks this time. According to media reports, the two cities were shaken by severe explosions. At Kyiv and other cities, attacks with Kamikazedrohnen were also reported.
Three people were injured in Saporischeschja, said military administrator Iwan Fedorow. Several residential buildings caught fire after hits. From the other attacked cities, there was initially no information about possible victims or damage.
Pokrowsk is a mining city in the south of the Donetsk region – it counted around 60,000 inhabitants before the war. After months of siege and constant fire, there are only a few residents left. However, the Russian troops have so far not been able to take the strategically important traffic junction.
Ukraine has now overcome a crisis in this front section at the beginning of the month. A kilometer -long breakthrough of the Russians was stopped. With counterattacks, the defenders managed to cut off parts of the Russian troops.
The Donetsk region has a priority for the Russian warfare. In the recent conversations between Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, the Kiev Russian is said to have asked the region’s task as a condition for freezing the front elsewhere.
The demand is not officially documented, but Russia had started the war three and a half years ago with the premise of completely splitting off the regions that were only partially held by Prorussian separatists. It was only later that the Kremlin also expanded its regions to the regions of Cherson and Saporischschja in the south of Ukraine.
Recently, Russian troops were able to make up for the south of the Donetsk Boden region and have now even pushed into the neighboring Dnipropetrovsk region. According to Russia’s Defense Minister Andrej Belousow, Moscow’s war of conquest runs successfully and recently gained a clear drive. “If we have freed 300 to 400 square kilometers every month at the beginning of the year, it is now 600 to 700,” said Belouuse at a meeting of the ministry. For comparison: The city of Hamburg has an area of 755 square kilometers.
