Late night show by Jimmy Kimmel returns

Due to statements about Charlie Kirk’s assassin, Jimmy Kimmel’s television show was discontinued. Now Disney turns the decision back.
The American television station ABC has announced that the show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Return back from Tuesday (local time). After “thorough talks” with the parent company Disney, the broadcaster decided to send the late night show again from Tuesday.
ABC stopped the show on Wednesday last week after Kimmel had criticized President Donald Trump’s government in a program. He accused her of politically exploiting the murder of the conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The US media supervision FCC then reacted with an open threat to the broadcasting stations. Thereupon several broadcasting groups reacted and exposed the charisma.
According to ABC and Disney, the suspension “did not want to heat a tense situation in an emotional moment for our country”. Kimmel’s comments were inappropriate and insensitive, the companies continued. In the following days there were “intensive conversations” with Kimmel. “After these talks, we decided to resume the show on Tuesday,” said a Disney spokesman. It remained unclear whether Kimmel’s return to certain conditions is linked.
The case had triggered nationwide debates about freedom of expression. Critics feared that they were limited by the government and Kimmel was another example of this. It was unclear whether the show would be continued at all.
Celebrities like Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep warned of “restricting freedom of expression by the government”. Kimmels Late Night colleague Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers and John Oliver also stood behind him. Even some Republican politicians, including the Senator Ted Cruz, were critical. They warned that state intervention against unpleasant voices was dangerous, since it could also be used as a precedent against conservatives.
US President Donald Trump had celebrated the deposition of the program on the Truth Social platform as “good news for America” and denied the talent. The moderator-like other late talkers-regularly takes apart the policy of the US president in a pointed manner. Trump had asked for more broadcasters to take Talks out of the program.
