Donald Trump sees nothing reprehensible in the assumption of a luxury plane made of Qatar. Instead, he pulls through his critics and regulates a US company.

It was an unusual gift that made the Qatarian ruling family to the US President on his trip to the Golf region two weeks ago. The guest from the USA was given an airplane from the sheikhs. Not just any, but an extra-red version of a Boeing 747-8. The jumbojet is more than five meters longer than the Air Force One, Trump’s current aircraft, which he uses as a US president. The current presidential machine dates from 1990.

The fact that he accepted the enormous gift from the Qataris gave him a lot of criticism. It was a sign of corruption that the president is publicly demonstrating his purchases, it resounded from the democratic opposition and liberal media. But Trump doesn’t want to know anything about that. The plane is free, the donation goes to the American Air Force, not to himself. What could be obtained about it, he defended himself.

On Wednesday, the 78-year-old confirmed his attitude during a press round in the White House. Trump called the new jet a “beautiful, great, great, free aircraft for the United States Air Force”. Then he turned to his critics again: “They wanted to put it like this: ‘Oh, it’s Trump’s plane’,” said the president and allowed himself a swipe. “Oh, yes, sure. It is even too big, openly said it is much too big”. He laughed.

When asked whether the JET will definitely become Air Force One, the official aircraft of the US President, Trump only said on Wednesday that the jumbojet was in the USA and “being converted to military standard”.

He could not provide any information about the costs for the renovation. He admitted that he did not know how much was estimated in the budget, but suspected that “she cost much less than building a new aircraft”.

Also Trump did not leave good hair on Boeing, the manufacturer of the Air Force One aircraft. Actually, the American aviation company had already wanted to provide a successor for the aging presidential machine. However, its delivery was delayed more and more. “You finally have to pull yourself together,” Trump called the Boeing manager.
