Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that Istanbul Airport was once again the busiest airport in Europe with an average of 1303 flights per day between 23 February and 1 March.
In his written statement, Uraloğlu evaluated the European Aviation Overview Report dated March 5 of the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL).
Giving information that the report covers the period of February 23-March 1, Uraloğlu stated that Türkiye ranks 6th among the countries with the highest traffic volume in Europe with an average of 2 thousand 442 flights per day, leaving behind countries such as the Netherlands, Switzerland, Poland and Norway.
Minister Uraloğlu pointed out the density of Istanbul Airport and said:
“Istanbul Airport once again became the busiest airport in Europe with an average of 1303 flights per day, leaving behind Amsterdam, London Heathrow, Paris Charles de Gaulle and Madrid Barajas airports. In addition, among 25 global airports, Istanbul Airport, with an average of 672 flight departures per day between January 26 and February 1, ranked 12th in the world.”
