Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that Istanbul Airport broke a new record in the number of flights and passengers. Minister Uraloğlu said, “Istanbul Airport reached the highest daily number of flights and passengers of all time in Turkey and Europe with 1,739 flights and 290,287 passengers on August 16. Thus, our Istanbul Airport broke a new record in both the number of flights and passengers.” he said.
STRENGTHENING ITS POSITION AS A GLOBAL TRANSPORT CENTER
Emphasizing that Istanbul Airport is increasing its strategic importance in international aviation day by day, Uraloğlu said, “Our Istanbul Airport is among the world’s leading airports with its capacity, strong infrastructure and service quality. These new records have once again strengthened the position of our airport as a global transfer center.” he said.
