According to Netanyahu, Israel is “prepared for any scenario” with regard to the region. A drone attack in the Emirates is fueling fears of a new escalation – as are threats from Trump.
According to media reports, Israel is preparing for a possible resumption of attacks in Iran in view of faltering diplomatic efforts. “Our eyes are wide open regarding Iran,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at a cabinet meeting in Jerusalem. He will speak to US President Donald Trump shortly. “There are certainly many possibilities, we are prepared for every scenario.”
The Israeli army is on high alert in anticipation of a possible resumption of attacks in Iran, wrote the newspaper Yediot Achronot, citing Israeli government officials. Israel is waiting for Trump to make a decision, it was said.
Trump threatens: “The clock is ticking for Iran”
Hours later, the US President again threatened Iran with destruction. “The clock is ticking for Iran and they better move FAST or there will be nothing left of them,” he wrote on his Truth Social platform. “TIME IS RUNNING!”

After a telephone interview, the news portal “Axios” also quoted him as saying that Iran would be hit “much harder” if the country’s leadership did not come up with a better proposal in its efforts to end the war.
“We want to make an agreement. They are not yet where we want them to be. They have to get there, otherwise they will be hit hard, and they don’t want that,” emphasized Trump.
Report: Consultations on military options expected soon
According to the US media, unnamed US officials said that military options were currently on the table again. The background is Tehran’s rejection of US demands and Iran’s unwillingness to make significant concessions on its controversial nuclear program.
Trump is expected to meet with his national security team on Tuesday in the Situation Room, the highly secured situation center at the US government headquarters in Washington. Options for military measures should be discussed there, “Axios” quotes two US officials.
According to information from the portal, Trump met with members of his national security team at his golf club in the US state of Virginia on Saturday.
Drone attack on nuclear power plant in the Emirates
Meanwhile, a fire broke out at a nuclear power plant during a drone attack in the United Arab Emirates. A power generator at the plant in the desert region west of Abu Dhabi caught fire, the capital’s media office said. The fire did not endanger the safety of the facility and operations were running normally, it said. There were no injuries either.
