Iran counters a threat of the United States. Tehran does not seem to care which citizens hire a counter -strike.

Iran has announced retaliation strokes in the fall of a US attack-also against British citizens. A high -ranking Iranian military told the “Telegraph”: “If time comes, it will not matter whether you are an American, British or Turkish soldier – you will be targeted when your base is used by Americans.”

As the “Telegraph” continues, according to the Iranian state media, it should be about a military base on Diego Garcia. The island is located in the Indian Ocean, almost 4,000 kilometers from Iran. As the state media emphasize, the Iranian Chorramshahr missiles and the Shahed 136 drone would have enough reach to attack the island.

The Iranian threats are a reaction to the latest advances by US President Donald Trump: If Iran does not consent to a new nuclear agreement with the USA, “very bad things would happen”. At the beginning of the month, Trump is said to have sent a letter to the Iranian head of state Ali Chamenei, in which he warns of the bad consequences of a US military mission. On Sunday, Trump had specifically threatened bombing and punitive tariffs. Read more about this here.

The United States has also followed these threats: at least three Northrop-B-2-bombers are said to have been stationed by the United States on Diego Garcia last week. Experts assume that these aircraft would probably be used in an attack on Iran.

Even if Great Britain returned the Chagos Archipelago to Mauritius in 2024, the basis remains in British property. The base, which was mainly used by the USA, was built in the 1970s. As the “Telegraph” writes, about 4,000 people are to work on the basis of around 40 British citizens.

In 2015, a nuclear agreement between Iran and among other things was closed to the United States, which, among other things, provides for Iran to restrict its uranium enrichment. Trump rose from the agreement in his first presidency in 2018 – he called it too “one -sided”.
