Apple, collaborating with payment platform Klarna; It stated that it will offer a rental option for iPhone, Mac, iPad and Apple Watch products. Within the framework of the system, which was first introduced in the USA, iPhone and Apple Watch models can be rented for 12 or 24 months, and Mac and iPad models can be rented for 24 or 36 months.

Products included in the rental scope include iPhone 17 series, iPhone Air, Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Studio, iPad Air, iPad Pro and iPad Mini.

Affordable products such as iPhone 16, MacBook Neo, standard iPad and Apple Watch SE were not included in the rental program.

REPLACES THE OLD UPGRADE PROGRAM

The new leasing model replaces the old iPhone Upgrade Program, which allowed consumers to replace their device with a new one after 12 months of payments.

The aim of the new system is to stretch installment options, reduce monthly costs and spread the application to a wide range of products.

Industry representatives estimate that due to the expectation of increases in electronic device prices and extended replacement periods, consumers may begin to view technological products as a monthly subscription service rather than a major purchase.
