Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz, who evaluated the April inflation figures announced by TURKSTAT, said, “We continue to establish the disinflation process thanks to our decisive economic program,” he said.
Yılmaz’s statements are as follows:
“Consumer inflation decreased to 37.9 percent annually in April, and since June 2024, the disinflation began with an uninterrupted decline with 37.6 points.
In April, there is a significant decrease in the food price increases in the food group, while the rate of rent inflation has been continuing since the beginning of the year. Domestic producer prices increased by 2.8 percent in April and annual inflation decreased by 35.2 points since June 2024 and realized as 22.5 percent. The relatively low course observed in producer inflation also positively affects consumer prices. With the program we have implemented with strong coordination, we will continue our struggle against inflation with determination.
In the global environment where uncertainties increase, we will improve our relative performance with political stability and predictability. Our aim is to enlarge our economy in stability and to increase our social welfare level permanently. “
