The number of income taxpayers in Turkey increased by 5.2 percent in 2024 compared to the previous year and rose to 2 million 606 thousand 489.
According to the compilation of the AA correspondent’s Revenue Administration (IOP) data, the number of active taxpayers subject to tax types except in the simple procedure as of December in Turkey as of December increased on an annual basis.
As of December 2024, the number of income tax taxpayers increased by 128 thousand 355 to 2 million 606 thousand 489 compared to 2023, while the increase rate was recorded as 5.2 percent. 649 thousand 759 of these taxpayers are registered in Istanbul, 188 thousand 80 in Ankara and 175 thousand 120 in Izmir.
The number of corporate taxpayers increased by 48 thousand 31 to 1 million 191 thousand 375 in the period in question, the increase was 4.2 percent.
– The number of taxpayers who earn rental income increased by 19.6 percent
Revenue withholding tax taxpayers as of last year, 2023, 189 thousand 113 highs and 4 million 151 thousand 166 recorded. The increase in this category was calculated as 4.8 percent.
VAT taxpayers increased by 152 thousand 880 in this period reached 3 million 705 thousand 178, the rate was 4.3 percent.
The inspections of the Ministry of Treasury and the Ministry of Finance for the owners of the property owners who obtained rental income were also reflected in the number of taxpayers. In the period in question, the number of income taxpayers taxed in simple procedure decreased by 1.4 percent to 821 thousand 849.
