The US Ministry of Trade prohibits its employees the use of the Chinese AI program Deepseek on among other things laptops and cell phones. “In order to ensure the security of the information systems of the Ministry of Commerce, access to the new Chinese Ki Deepseek is largely prohibited on all devices,” says a mass email to the employees, which is also available. The Ministry of Commerce did not react immediately to a request for comment. Reuters could not immediately determine the extent to which the ban on the entire US government applies.
