The 2nd Afyonkarahisar International Block Marble Fair, one of the most important meetings in Türkiye’s natural stone industry, brought together industry representatives and purchasing delegations from all over the world. While 308 companies and institutions participated in the fair held between 17-20 June, approximately 350 foreign business people had the opportunity to examine Turkish marble on-site.
AFYONKARAHİSAR IS ON THE WAY TO BECOME THE GLOBAL CENTER OF MARBLE
Buyers from 38 countries, including China, India, Egypt, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, attended the fair, which was held in an area of 40 thousand square meters. The organization is expected to make a significant contribution to the export targets of the Turkish natural stone industry.
STRONG POSITION IN EXPORT
Deputy Minister of Trade Volkan Ağar stated that Türkiye received a 12.7 percent share of world natural stone exports and that it ranked first in the world in raw and processed marble exports. Ağar emphasized that Afyonkarahisar will export approximately 280 million dollars of natural stone in 2025.

TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the intense interest the fair received on an international scale is an important indicator for the sector and said, “Afyonkarahisar is now Türkiye’s largest block marble meeting center.” Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the fair offers important opportunities for establishing new commercial connections.
OVER 350 FOREIGN BUSINESS PEOPLE PARTICIPATED
Cihat Alagöz, Chairman of ALZ Fair Board of Directors, stated that the fair gained international fair status this year and that they hosted more than 350 business people from 38 countries, especially the USA, China, India, England, Italy and Middle Eastern countries, in Afyonkarahisar. Alagöz noted that the fair paved the way for new collaborations that will increase the effectiveness of Turkish marble in the world market.
