Prigoschin’s mother gives new details

The death of mercenary chief Jewgeni Prigoschin was two years ago. His mother is now trying to save the memory of her son.

Jewgeni Prigoschin probably expected his early death after his failed coup in 2023. As the mother of the former Wagner boss, Violetta Prigoschina, explained in an interview with the Russian website “Fontanka”, the mercenary boss was increasingly capable of the environment before his death and had worked very resigned.

Violetta Prigoschina emphasized that in her opinion it was not an “uprising” when taking over Rostow, but a “march”. Prigoschina said: “He didn’t want to overthrow Putin, absolutely sure. He wanted to reach the military command.” She suspects that her son spontaneously decided on the campaign.

Ultimately, Prigoschin was the other way around – also because he did not want to kill young Russian soldiers. The launch of a fighter plane by Wagner mercenaries, in which the crew was also killed, was only an oversight; It didn’t have to do with her son.

She warned her son in advance: “People will only support you on the Internet. Nobody goes with you. Today the people are no longer the case. Nobody goes on the street.” Prigoschin replied: “No, you will support me.” In general, Prigoschina tries to improve her son’s reputation: the rumors circulating online, such as about his crime, are wrong. Her son’s stay in prison was also nothing unusual in the 1980s.

Asked about conspiracy theories, according to which her son only staged the crash of his private jet a few months after the march on Moscow to flee, Prigoschina refers to DNA samples. She was certain that her son actually died in the crash.

At the end of June 2023, Prigoschin came up in a number of video messages with the Russian Ministry of Defense – triggers were probably the attempts by the ministry to integrate his mercenaries into the official Russian army. Prigoschin called up the population to resist, and on July 24, with his troops in the city of Rostow on the Don military facilities located on the Ukrainian border.
