According to Israeli information, the release is expected to take place early Monday morning. Government spokeswoman Shosh Bedrosian confirmed that all 20 living hostages will be released at the same time. They should first be handed over to the Red Cross before they cross the border into Israel. “Israel is ready to receive the hostages,” Bedrosian said. The handover of the hostages should take place without public images in order to prevent Hamas propaganda, as Bedrosian emphasized. Six to eight vehicles are ready to take the released hostages out of the Gaza Strip. They will then be taken to Israeli forces in Israeli-controlled parts of the Gaza Strip.

There the hostages are medically examined and reunited with their families in southern Israel. Bedrosian said Israel was prepared if any of the released people needed urgent medical attention. The remains of those who died in captivity should also be handed over. These would arrive in Israel in coffins covered with Israeli flags.

US Vice President JD Vance has stressed that the United States will not deploy soldiers to Gaza or Israel. “We have no plans to deploy troops to the region,” Vance said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
