Rapidly developing defense technologies against high -speed threats are no longer not only with missiles, but also by laser. The Turkish Defense Industry managed to enter the world elite defense club by crossing a critical threshold in laser -based orientation energy systems. The Yildirim-100 system developed by ASELSAN is descending to the field as the first domestic DIRCM solution of Türkiye, which can intervene directly against infrared guided missiles towards air platforms. The platform is carefully monitored in the global defense media.

The Yildirim-100 system developed by ASELSAN can intervene directly with laser guidance against infrared missile attacks.

Intervention with laser

Turkish Defense Industry, the first domestic and national laser -based directed infrared (DIRCM) system developed against heat -guided missiles; With Yıldırım-100, it exceeded a strategic threshold in the international field. Developed by ASELSAN and started to be tested in the field at the beginning of 2025, the system is one of the biggest threats towards air platforms in a modern war environment. He can intervene directly with laser guidance against infrared missile attacks. Unlike the classic Flare systems, Yıldırım-100, which directly directs laser energy to the threat missile, neutralizes the missile searcher and deflected its direction.

NATO suitable

In the test process of the platform, real missiles were used, and the system exhibited simultaneous intervention against multiple threats directed from different angles. During the development process of Yıldırım -00, compliance with NATO standards was taken into consideration. The coordination of ASELSAN with the Defense Industry Presidency provides confidence in both internal security and export potential.

Integration range

Yildirim-100 consists of four basic sub-components: MAWS (infrared missile warning system), which covers the missile threat 360 degrees, the Gimbal Unit directed to the target, the laser unit that produces multi-band laser beam and the electronic control unit that integrates the entire system. System; It has high -tech features such as automatic targeting, threat analysis and laser guidance. Thanks to its compact structure and low weight, the system can be integrated into a wide range of platforms from T70 helicopters to A400M aircraft, from Hürkuş-C to UAVs.

Export is on the agenda

The system was also designed to work effectively even under advanced electronic war conditions. Lightning-100, which attracts attention with its high-resistant structure against high-frequency parasites, low radar cross-sectional area and optical mixing, is also ideal for critical operations that require low views. TAF TAF until the end of 2026 TSK is intended to act actively on air platforms The system is planned to be integrated into advanced generation aircraft such as the National Combat Aircraft Kaan, Gökbey helicopter and Kızılelma. In addition, export projects for Africa, Central Asia and the Gulf region are on the agenda.

DIRCM technology is only used in the world only by the USA, Israel, Russia and partly China. Türkiye has managed to enter the Elite Defense Club with the Yildirim-100 platform.

Intense interest from the world

Yildirim-100’s global echo was not delayed. Defense Industry Europe, the rooted defense organ of Europe, said in detail how the system neutralized the laser-guided missiles in the news titled “ASELSAN, Yildirim-100 DIRCM system. The US -based Ytarmy Recognition broadcast announced to its readers that the system has successfully proved its capacity to protect air assets from infrared missile threats “.

Elite entered the class

This development reveals the stage of Türkiye in laser -based energy technologies. DIRCM technology can only be developed successfully by the USA, Israel, Russia and partly China today. With Yıldırım-100, Türkiye has entered this list as the fifth country. ASELSAN’s system, which is developed by domestic sensors, laser modules and optical hardware, also reduces foreign dependence in this field. As of 2026, the widespread use of the system in the field and its sales to allied countries are also expected to begin.
