Grandfather Kadir Özer, who runs a delicatessen business in Ardahan, started his profession as a hobby.
Özer went to Istanbul to work in 2006. Özer worked in restaurants and as a chef in Istanbul, where he worked for 11 years.
Later, he returned to his hometown and chose to do his grandfather’s profession, beekeeping. Having started with 10 hives and now having around 300 hives, Özer not only produces honey, but also propolis, pollen, royal jelly, apilarni, bee bread and finally bee venom.
While searching for ways to earn more income from beekeeping, Özer learned about the production of bee venom. He sold bee venom, which has been used in the treatment of many diseases especially in the cosmetics and health sectors, for 100 dollars per gram in the country, while expanding his business and expanding abroad.
