Good liability insurance costs around ten euros less today than it did five years ago. It is therefore best to check your contract now.

Private liability insurance is one of the most important types of insurance. It pays out if the insured person causes personal injury, property damage or financial damage to third parties due to an accident or carelessness.

The tariffs are currently supposed to be cheaper and at the same time more powerful than they were five years ago. “Finanztip” found this out in a current comparison of 38 tariffs from 28 different providers. If you are already insured, it might be worth changing.

While the cheapest, high-performance tariff for families still cost 55 euros per year in 2021, it is currently only 37 euros. For singles the amount has fallen from 37 to 25 euros. “On average, you can get good protection today for around ten euros less than five years ago, with better services overall,” says Henriette Neubert, “Finanztip” expert for property insurance. According to Neubert, it can be worth checking your insurance coverage occasionally and switching if you get a better offer.

The requirements of “Finanztip” sometimes even went beyond this in the test. Only providers whose tariffs could be concluded online and included a flat sum insured of 50 million euros were taken into account. The deductible in the test was 150 euros.
