Gas prices in Europe started with a harsh decline next week

LONDON (AA) – After the deepening of sales pressure in global markets due to the influence of reciprocity based tariffs brought by the US to trade partners, gas prices in Europe began with a harsh decline.

In the Netherlands -based Virtual Natural Gas Trade Point, which has the highest depth in Europe, TTF, May -term contracts, the price of gas per megawattaat per contracts decreased from approximately 4 percent compared to the previous closing and opened at 35 euros.

Following the opening, the gas prices decreased by 8 percent to 33.5 euros, as of 10.50 TSI was traded at the level of 34.5.

Thus, gas prices in Europe have declined to the lowest level since May 2024.

In the harsh decline in prices, US President Donald Trump’s reciprocity -based tariffs announced last week and uncertainties regarding the reactions of countries to these tariffs are effective.

While the concern of US protectionist commercial policies will slow down the economy, concerns that the slowdown of the global economy will reduce the demand for energy, while concerns that the slowdown of the global economy trigger price decrease.
