While FTSE Russell, which is part of the London Stock Exchange, did not include Türkiye on its watch list, it preserved the country’s “Advanced Emerging Market” status.
FTSE Russell, the index provider that creates and manages the indices used in global financial markets, published the “FTSE Stock Markets Classification – FTSE Country-Based Stock Classification September 2026 Annual Announcement” on its website.
In the announcement, “FTSE Russell continues its contacts with Borsa Istanbul and the Capital Markets Board (CMB), which are evaluating the feasibility of improving the level of detail of the data that forms the basis of the actual circulation rates published by the Central Registry Agency (MKK).” statements were included.
