Between 1987 and 1993, Saracoğlu was the President of the Central Bank.
WHO IS RÜŞDÜ SARACOĞLU?
Rüşdü Saracoğlu was born in 1948 in Ankara. After graduating from Ankara Atatürk High School, he graduated from METU Department of Economics and Statistics. In 1980, he received a doctoral degree from the Department of Economics at Minnesota University. He worked as a lecturer at Minnesota and Boston College.
He served as an economist at the IMF, the Central Bank Presidency, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Macro Consultancy, XX. He served as a deputy of Izmir and the state ministry. Rüşdü Saracoğlu, who is married to Nurdan Saracoğlu, is the father of Aslı Saracoğlu.
The grandson of former Prime Minister Mehmet Şükrü Saracoğlu was the son of Hüseyin Aydın Saracoğlu, the former Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Appeals.
