Total deposits of the banking sector increased by 333 billion 981 million 798 thousand liras in the week ending June 26 compared to the previous week, reaching 31 trillion 634 billion 154 million 676 thousand liras.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) announced weekly money and bank statistics.
Accordingly, the total deposits of the banking sector increased by 1.07 percent and 333 billion 981 million 798 thousand liras in the week ending June 26, from 31 trillion 300 billion 172 million 879 thousand liras to 31 trillion 634 billion 154 million 676 thousand liras.
In the same period, Turkish lira deposits in banks increased by 2.92 percent to 17 trillion 521 billion 562 million 279 thousand liras, while foreign currency (FX) deposits decreased by 1.25 percent to 10 trillion 128 billion 595 million 275 thousand liras.
While the total FX deposits in banks amounted to 258 billion 859 million dollars last week, 218 billion 406 million dollars of this amount was collected in the accounts of domestic residents.
Considering the parity-adjusted data in the total FX deposits of domestic residents, there was a decrease of 1 billion 110 million dollars as of June 26.
CONSUMER CREDITS OF DOMESTIC RESIDENTS INCREASED
Consumer loans of domestic residents in the banking sector increased by 1.64 percent last week, reaching 6 trillion 581 billion 31 million 717 thousand lira.
Of the loans in question, 799 billion 712 million 518 thousand liras were housing, 43 billion 170 million 184 thousand liras were vehicle loans, 2 trillion 521 billion 491 million 123 thousand liras were consumer loans, and 3 trillion 216 billion 657 million 892 thousand liras were individual credit cards.
The total credit volume of the banking sector, including the CBRT, increased by 327 billion 362 million 759 thousand liras in the week ending June 26, from 25 trillion 560 billion 60 million 132 thousand liras to 25 trillion 887 billion 422 million 891 thousand liras.
