Click-through rate doubles
According to data shared by Google, when a site is marked as a “preferred resource”, users are approximately twice as likely to click on that site.
This is seen as an important source of traffic, especially for news sites. Because posts that users manually select are shown higher and more frequently in relevant news searches.
“From your sources” section is coming
When the feature is activated, Google also opens a new area in the search results. The contents of the sites chosen by users are listed in a separate section under the heading “From Your Resources”.
It is also available in Türkiye
The feature, which was tested in limited regions in 2025, was made available globally in all languages, including Turkish, as of April 2026.
According to experts, this step is part of Google’s strategy to offer more “user control” on the news side.
