Bendevi Palandöken, Chairman of the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), stated in her written statement that masters have found the opportunity to easily reach customers thanks to many applications that provide services over the internet in recent years.

Emphasizing that this situation brings with it some grievances for citizens and tradesmen, Palandöken pointed out that opportunistic people, especially in professions such as locksmith, electronic equipment repair and natural gas maintenance, can deceive citizens in a job in which they are not experts.

Palandöken said, “When people who are not registered in the professional chamber and introduce themselves as masters are taken into the house, they pose a security risk. Our citizens should be sensitive about this issue.” made his assessment.

Emphasizing that reference, price comparison, contract and reliability should be prioritized when purchasing services online, Palandöken said:

“You should not be deceived by the price just because it is cheap. Otherwise, you may come across those who present themselves as masters and are not registered with the professional chamber, and you may lose your property. In order to prevent such problems, it is very important for our citizens to choose the tradesmen they know and trust in services that require mastery. Because our masters, who are competent, stand behind the service they provide. “It prioritizes customer satisfaction and offers a job guarantee.”

“TO PERSONS WITHOUT A LICENSE…”

Palandöken pointed out that keys should never be handed over to people who do not have a mastership certificate and warned that key duplicating machines can be sold to anyone on websites.

Pointing out that these machines should be given to those who practice the profession, Palandöken said, “Key duplicating machines should not be sold to people who do not have a license. Our citizens should prefer keysmith tradesmen who are chamber registered, have a mastery certificate and do their job properly, when changing the locks of homes and workplaces and in key duplication operations. Especially on the internet.” “Those they reach via mobile phones who change locks or work as a keymaker as a side job should not be respected.” he said.
