Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, TUBITAK Information and Information Security Advanced Technologies Research Center (BİLGEM) developed by the F-16 Electronic Support Pode (EDPOD), has successfully completed flight tests against real radar systems. Kacir, social media account, said in a statement, F-16 EDPOD in the inventory of the Air Force Command, he said.
Emphasizing that F-16 EDPOD, developed by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, successfully completed flight tests against real radar systems, made the following evaluations:
“Developed with the aim of reducing the dependence of our country in defense technologies, EDPOD has made a strategic contribution to our electronic warfare capabilities. Radar signal sensor tactical electronic support pod, integrated into the F-16 aircraft, EDPOD, the enemy’s target detection and tracking, missile guidance and target lighting radars can detect the signals of the threats, can define the threats and make advanced place. The war system was developed with domestic and national facilities.
Kacır congratulated those who contributed and thanked the Ministry of National Defense and the Defense Industry Presidency who opened the way for the development of national systems.
