Kacır reminded that F-16 EDPOD has successfully completed flight tests against real radar systems.
Kacır emphasized that the F-16 EDPOD, developed in the main contractor of TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, entered the inventory of the Air Force Command, and made the following assessment:
“Developed with the aim of reducing the dependence of our country in defense technologies, EDPOD has made a strategic contribution to our electronic warfare capabilities. Radar signal sensor tactical electronic support pod, integrated into the F-16 aircraft, EDPOD, the enemy’s target detection and tracking, missile guidance and target lighting radars can detect the signals of the threats, can define the threats and make advanced place. The war system was developed with domestic and national facilities.
Kacır congratulated those who contributed and thanked the Ministry of National Defense and the Defense Industry Presidency who opened the way for the development of national systems.
On the other hand, EDPOD, which has been developed in line with the goal of reducing Türkiye’s dependence on defense technologies in defense technologies, is also known as the system that will change games in electronic warfare. Edpod, one of the important outputs of the National Technology Ham, plays a critical role in the battlefield.
Edpod task data file preparation, Test and Analysis Laboratory was also activated. EDPOD is an advanced electronic warfare system that can detect signals of the enemy’s target detection and tracking, missile guidance and target lighting radars as a radar signal sensor tactical electronic support paste integrated into F-16 aircraft.
Compared to the equivalent foreign systems, Edpod, which offers superior features, eliminates dependence on the outside in this field thanks to the development of critical units within TUBITAK with domestic and national facilities.
EDPOD can share threat information with all armed forces.
