Trump describes China’s President Xi Jinping as hard negotiators. A violent strike broke out between the USA and China. All developments in the news blog.
After a statement by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the 36th anniversary of the bloody suppression of the protests on Tiananmen Platz in Beijing, a violent dispute between China and the USA broke out. “The incorrect statements of the United States maliciously twist historical facts, are an attack on China’s political system and development path and represent a serious intervention in China’s internal affairs,” said foreign office spokesman Lin Jian on Wednesday in Beijing.
Previously, Rubio had explained that the world was “never forgotten” what happened on June 4th 36 years ago – even if China “actively tried to censor the facts”. The US Foreign Minister added: “Today we commemorate the Mut of the Chinese who were killed in trying to exercise their basic freedoms.” Rubio was already considered a sharp critic of China and supporters of human rights in authoritarian-ruled countries during his time.
Beijing is very dissatisfied with the statements of Rubios and rejects them, said foreign office spokesman Lin. China filed a complaint with the USA.
The United States has doubled its tariffs to steel and aluminum imports. Germany and the EU are increasingly resigned in view of this. Read here what the new tariffs mean for the economy in this country.

Trump comments on trade dispute with China
US President Donald Trump describes Chinese President Xi Jinping as hard negotiators. It was “extremely difficult to conclude an agreement with him,” said Trump on his online platform Truth Social. Only recently has Trump accused China of violating tariffs and trading restrictions. “I liked the Chinese President Xi, it has always been the case, and I will always do it, but he is very hard and it is extremely difficult to negotiate with him,” said Trump.
The spokeswoman for the US Presidential Office, Karoline Leavitt, said on Monday that Trump wanted to speak to XI this week. In addition to major trade questions, the two heads of state try to clear out differences in terms of the customs agreement from the past month.
According to his own statements, Japan has not received a letter from the United States with the request to provide his suggestions for trade talks. “Our country has not yet received such a letter,” said cabinet chief Yoshimasa Hayashi at a regular press conference on Wednesday. “As far as the US customs measures are concerned, negotiations are currently underway between Japan and the USA. The government will continue to deal with them, do everything and give them the highest priority,” said Hayashi.
Karoline Leavitt, the spokeswoman for the White House, reported on Tuesday that the United States had asked its trading partners to make their best offers for the negotiations by Wednesday. This is a “friendly memory” on the fact that the deadline for setting is closer. The target date for the negotiations determined by the United States itself will run in five weeks.
The Republican MP and Maga supporter Marjorie Taylor Greene has approved Elon Musk’s criticism of Trump’s tax law. However, she added restrictively that the congress “has to spend some money to control the ship and to meet President Trump’s campaign promise, namely border security”.
Greene voted for the law even though she has concerns. The border security sees them as something for which it is worth spending money. “I would exhibit Tom Homan at any time,” she said. As Trump’s “Grenzzar”, Homan is the senior representative for deportations and border security in the White House.
