As a result of a Russian missile strike, at least three people were killed in a residential area in the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv, including a child. “An impact on a children’s playground near an ordinary house,” wrote President Volodymyr Zelensky on Telegram. Five other people were injured. Zelensky expressed his condolences to the relatives and renewed his call for greater support for the country attacked by Russia.
Ukraine has been fending off a Russian invasion for over two years. Due to the constant missile and drone attacks that have resulted in civilian casualties, Kiev is repeatedly pressing its Western allies for new deliveries of air defense equipment.
