Chicken meat production throughout Türkiye increased by 11.7 percent in May compared to the same month of last year, increased to 241 thousand 782 tons, while chicken egg production decreased by 13.5 percent to 1 billion 526 million 665 thousand.
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) announced the statistics of poultry production for May.
Accordingly, 241 thousand 782 tons of chicken meat was produced in May. Production increased by 11.7 percent on an annual basis and 1.8 percent on a monthly basis.
Chicken egg production fell by 1.6 percent on a monthly basis in May, 13.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. During this period, 1 billion 526 million 665 thousand chicken eggs were produced.
The number of chickens cut in the period in question, an annual increase of 8.8 percent of 129 million 851 thousand recorded as recorded.
In January-May, chicken eggs decreased by 10.5 percent compared to the same period last year, while the number of chicken cuts increased by 11 percent and chicken meat production increased by 14.1 percent.
